The Voluma Difference
Sometimes referred to as “liquid facelifts”, most dermal fillers work by augmenting the skin’s natural levels of hyaluronic acid (HA). HA enables the skin to retain moisture, giving it its plump, smooth, healthy appearance. Unfortunately, as we age, the HA levels in our skin naturally decrease, causing wrinkles, rough and uneven skin tone and texture, and a drawn, droopy appearance. JUVÉDERM VOLUMA™ XC (VOLUMA) is the first FDA-approved hyaluronic acid-based dermal filler, and has a long-standing, successful track record of providing stunning rejuvenation results, especially for individuals seeking to enhance and augment facial volume in the cheeks and mid-face region.
VOLUMA harnesses the power of hyaluronic acid (HA) to instantly restore lost volume in all three areas of the cheek (the apex, apple, and hollow). VOLUMA re-establishes the skin’s optimal HA levels, providing the facial contours with an immediate, subtly rejuvenating lift and giving patients a youthfully refreshed facial appearance that can last up to two years. As with all products in the JUVÉDERM® family of injectable dermal fillers, VOLUMA can be utilized by individuals of all ethnicities and races, and does not pose any risk of hypertrophic scarring or hyperpigmentation. Additionally, because VOLUMA is not made from bovine or other animal products, pre-treatment allergy testing is not required.
Dermal fillers like VOLUMA have the benefit of immediately visible results, but periodic follow-up treatments must be conducted to maintain long-term results. At Gentle Touch Aesthetics and Wellness in Los Gatos, California, our injectors offer a variety of effective, safe, and highly-respected dermal fillers, such as JUVÉDERM® VOLUMA, to help their patients obtain vibrant and silky skin. Voluma Procedure Details
VOLUMA treatments can be performed in the office, usually taking about 15-20 minutes. VOLUMA has been infused with lidocaine, a local anesthetic, in order to minimize any discomfort during and after the treatment. Most patients will be able to resume their daily activities immediately after receiving the VOLUMA injection, but are advised to avoid exposure to sun or heat, strenuous activity and exercise, and alcoholic beverages for at least 24 hours. Side effects of VOLUMA injections are mild and temporary, and can include bruising, tenderness, redness, firmness, swelling, discoloration, itching, and bumps at the injection sites. These symptoms generally subside within 2-4 weeks.
